The DLN Cluster ICBs are recruiting to two newly created Deputy Director of Commissioning posts: one for Nottinghamshire and one for Derbyshire. Joining a newly established senior team, postholders will have the mandate to influence change across a large and complex health and care system, build trusted partnerships across organisational boundaries and translate strategic ambition into measurable improvement for local people. Working within the senior commissioning leadership team, and reporting through the Directors of Commissioning for Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, these roles will sit within one of the largest ICB Clusters in the country, serving a population of more than 3.2 million people.
Success will depend on your ability to work confidently across the Cluster footprint — with internal ICB teams, partners and the wider system — while maintaining a clear focus on better outcomes, reduced inequalities and best use of resources.

This role may be employed by any organisation within the DLN Cluster.
The two roles will provide delivery, oversight and performance leadership for commissioned activity on behalf of each Place, ensuring services meet agreed activity levels, quality standards, financial targets and constitutional requirements. Portfolios will span major system priorities including Planned Care, Urgent and Emergency Care and patient flow, Children and Young People’s services, Learning Disability and Autism, Mental Health, Older Adults’ services, Women’s Health and associated national policy priorities. Postholders will lead the design and implementation of commissioning plans aligned to the NHS 10-Year Plan, the DLN Cluster ICB 5-Year Strategic Commissioning Plan, the 5-Year Population Health Strategy and relevant national frameworks, supporting the shifts from hospital to community, sickness to prevention and analogue to digital.
