We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join a well-established Mechanical & Electrical Design and Installation specialist operating at the top end of the commercial fit-out market.
This role is focused purely on electrical estimating for high-value, fast-track commercial projects for Blue Chip corporate clients. Candidates must bring depth, stability, and a clear estimating background - not a jack-of-all-trades profile.
The business is a Mechanical and Electrical Design Specialist capable of delivering competitive quotations and high-quality installation services, operating on both spec & build and design & build projects.
60-65% of turnover derived from fast-track commercial fit-out & refurbishment
Remaining turnover from new build commercial, health, leisure, hotel, and education sectors
All staff are directly employed
All services are managed in-house
Strong, well-managed supply chain with long-term domestic subcontractor partners
Prepare accurate and competitive electrical tenders from first principles
Review specifications, drawings, and employer's requirements
Produce detailed take-offs, pricing schedules, and cost plans
Liaise with internal pre-construction, design, and delivery teams
Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to secure best value
Manage multiple tenders simultaneously, often to tight deadlines
Support tender clarifications and post-tender interviews when required
Proven background as an Electrical Estimator within M&E contracting
Strong commercial fit-out experience (CAT A & CAT B essential)
Experience working on projects up to £40m
Exposure to Tier One or equivalent contractors strongly preferred
Stable career history - job-hopping CVs will not be suitable
Clear estimating focus (not mixed designer / QS / PM roles)
Strong understanding of fast-track tender environments
Canary Wharf based, particularly during the probationary period
Some flexibility for established team members to work from home on specific tender elements
This is not a fixed "3 days office / 2 days home" arrangement
Hybrid working depends on tender type, stage, and programme
Salary up to £110,000, depending on experience
Long-term career stability with a well-established contractor
Exposure to high-quality, Blue Chip commercial projects
Professional, technically strong pre-construction team
