We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Pre-Press Specialist to join our clients production team. As a Pre-Press Specialist, you will be at the intersection of customer service, technical expertise, and innovation. You'll not only process orders and prepare files for print but will also contribute to the development and refinement of one of the most advanced automated pre-press systems in the country. - Receive, evaluate, and process customer artwork files for various print projects
- Conduct thorough pre-flight checks to identify potential issues including resolution problems, color space errors, font issues, and bleed/trim concerns
- Prepare print-ready files according to specific production requirements and print processes
- Manage multiple orders simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting tight deadlines
- Organize and maintain digital file archives in accordance with company protocols
- Process orders through our automated pre-press system, monitoring for quality and accuracy
- Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of print-ready artwork requirements across different print processes including offset, digital, large format, and specialty printing
- Identify and correct common file issues such as low-resolution images, incorrect color modes (RGB vs CMYK), missing fonts, and improper bleeds
- Ensure all files meet technical specifications for the intended print method
- Create and verify color separations, trapping, and imposition layouts as required
- Perform soft proofing and prepare hard proofs when necessary
