A position for Mobile Service Engineer has arisen at our Hull branch with a competitive salary depending on experience, overtime and call-out opportunities, company vehicle and a comprehensive benefits package.
We are looking for someone with a mechanical engineering background, ideally within materials handling, plant, agricultural or similar industries, who enjoys working in a field-based role supporting customers across the local area.
The role of Mobile Engineer is to deliver and maintain high standards of customer service on a daily basis for the branch. The role involves direct interaction and telecommunication with customers, visitors, other Windsor branches and the branch sales and service teams.
Responsibilities will also include ensuring that work is carried out safely and efficiently at all times. There may also be occasions where you are asked to assist other members of Windsor staff. Any tasks requested will be reasonable and within the scope of your knowledge and abilities.
The main day to day duties of a Service Engineer (but not limited to) are:
Customers
- Provide local after-sales service support to customers.
- Carry out work on customer sites while maintaining a professional and courteous approach
- Follow all safety processes and ensure safe working practices at all times
- Maintain and develop strong customer relationships through a high standard of service
Branch
- Maintain good housekeeping standards within the workshop and work areas
- Follow and promote safe working practices at all times
Engineering Duties
- Service and maintain diesel, LPG and electrical materials handling equipment
- Carry out fault finding, planned maintenance and pre-delivery inspections on forklift trucks
- Ensure customer service is maintained to a high standard and address any queries raised
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and policies set by customers and Windsor Materials Handling Ltd
- Maintain the company vehicle to a high standard
- Ensure all equipment and tools are maintained and in good working order
- Complete all job sheets and paperwork accurately and promptly
- Attend product training courses when required
- Work a basic 40-hour week with flexibility where overtime is required
- Participate in the call-out rota when required
Parts
- Relay accurate and comprehensive information to the Parts Department where required
Our Mobile Engineer will demonstrate:
- A background in materials handling equipment would be desirable
- Experience in mechanical engineering, including service and maintenance
- A good understanding of hydraulic, mechanical and electrical principles
- Basic electrical knowledge
- The ability to work independently and under pressure
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload
- Good understanding of customer service and customer needs
- A full UK driving licence
