We are recruiting an experienced Registered Children's Home Manager to manage a children's residential home in Leicester.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring a safe, supportive and child-centred environment while maintaining compliance with Ofsted requirements and the Children's Homes Regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the children's home.
- Provide effective leadership, supervision and support to the staff team.
- Ensure the home meets Ofsted requirements and the Children's Homes Quality Standards.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding and child protection.
- Ensure individual care plans and risk assessments are implemented effectively.
- Monitor the quality of care and outcomes for children and young people.
- Manage staff performance, training, development and supervision.
- Work effectively with social workers, local authorities, families and other professionals.
- Maintain accurate records, policies and regulatory documentation.
- Prepare the home and staff team for Ofsted inspections.
- Promote a positive, stable and child-centred culture within the home.
Requirements
Applicants should have:
- At least 2 years' experience in a role relevant to the residential care of children within the last 5 years.
- At least 1 year of experience supervising or managing staff in a care setting.
- Previous experience as a Registered Manager, Deputy Manager or in a similar leadership position within children's residential care.
- Good knowledge of Ofsted requirements, Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards.
- Strong safeguarding and child protection knowledge.
- Experience supporting children and young people with complex needs.
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with external professionals and local authorities.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or the ability and commitment to achieve the required qualification within the regulatory timeframe.
- Ability to meet the suitability requirements for registration with Ofsted.
- Right to work in the UK.
