Foxhills Pallets Ltd is looking for a reliable and experienced 3.5T Driver with commercial towing experience to join our team.
You will be driving a 75 plate Mitsubishi Canter 18ft flatbed, towing an 18ft Ifor Williams trailer, carrying out pallet collections and deliveries to customers and suppliers.
This is a hands-on role, so we are looking for someone who is confident behind the wheel, experienced with towing, comfortable safely loading and securing vehicles, and confident communicating with customers face to face.
Hours & Pay
Monday to Friday
6:00am – 3:00pm
£13.50 – £14.50 per hour, depending on experience
Approximately 40 paid hours per week.
Main Duties
- Driving a 3.5T Mitsubishi Canter 18ft flatbed
- Towing an 18ft Ifor Williams trailer
- Carrying out pallet collections and deliveries
- Safely loading and unloading pallets
- Ensuring vehicles and trailers are loaded safely and correctly
- Securing loads using ratchet straps and appropriate load restraint
- Checking loads are secure before travelling
- Manoeuvring and reversing the vehicle and trailer safely
- Carrying out basic daily vehicle and trailer checks
- Completing delivery and collection paperwork where required
- Communicating professionally with customers, suppliers and site staff
- Assisting with general yard duties when required
- Keeping the vehicle and equipment clean, tidy and well looked after
What We’re Looking For
- Previous commercial towing experience is essential
- Confident towing, manoeuvring and reversing a large trailer
- Experience driving 3.5T commercial vehicles
- Full UK driving licence with the correct entitlement to tow the vehicle and trailer combination
- Valid digital tachograph driver card where required
- Confident in safely loading vehicles and trailers
- Confident and experienced using ratchet straps and load restraint
- Good understanding of vehicle, trailer and load safety
- Comfortable with the physical side of loading and unloading pallets
- Forklift experience is desirable
- Confident with face-to-face communication
- Friendly and professional when dealing with customers and suppliers
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
- Willing to get stuck in and help with general yard duties when required
- Takes pride in looking after the vehicle and equipment provided
About the Role
This is not purely a cab-based driving position.
The successful applicant will be expected to assist with loading and unloading, ensure loads are safely and correctly secured, and represent Foxhills Pallets professionally when visiting customers and suppliers.
We are a friendly, hands-on business and are looking for someone dependable who takes pride in their work, is confident in their driving ability and takes vehicle and load safety seriously.
