About us
Green Guard is a growing air conditioning and renewables company delivering high-end residential and light commercial installations — wall-mounted splits, multi-splits, concealed ducted systems and VRV/VRF — with a renewables pipeline (heat pumps, solar) building behind it.
We're hiring a fully qualified, UK-experienced Air Conditioning Engineer / Installer to deliver work to the highest standard. This is not a trainee role — we are offering top pay for top ability and top quality only. As our engineer you'll be first in line for Lead Engineer as the team grows, with genuine input into how the company is built.
Requirements – You Must Have
- F-Gas Category 1 certification (essential) — proof required with your application
- Minimum 5+ years hands-on UK experience installing and commissioning AC systems
- Proven ability to install, commission and fault-find split, multi-split and VRV/VRF systems
- Competence with pressure testing, vacuuming, charging and commissioning to manufacturer standards
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, refrigerant charts and installation schematics
- Neat pipework, ductwork and condensate routing — pride in the finish
- Full UK driving licence
- Own Van & Tools
- Reliability, attention to detail and a professional approach with clients
Desirable (but not essential)
- NVQ Diploma in Installing and Maintaining Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Systems (or equivalent)
- Manufacturer training certificates (e.g. Daikin, Mitsubishi, LG)
- PASMA / IPAF certification
- Electrical knowledge (18th Edition a plus)
- Background in servicing and maintenance
- Heat pump / renewables experience
Tools & Equipment
- Engineers are expected to have their own hand and service tools (gauges, vac pump, flaring equipment). A complete professional tool kit will be reflected in your pay level.
- Company van, fuel card and specialist tools can be provided for the right candidate.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for:
- Full installation, commissioning and testing of air conditioning systems (split, multi-split, VRV/VRF)
- Diagnosing and rectifying faults
- Ductwork and condensate routing with a neat, professional finish
- Working on premium residential and light commercial sites across Berkshire and the Thames Valley
- Completing digital job reports and photo documentation on every install
