Senior Education Support Adviser
Carmarthenshire County Council is seeking to appoint an exceptional and visionary Senior Education Support Adviser to lead and strengthen provision across our primary schools and early years settings.
In collaboration with the Lead for School Improvement, this post presents a unique opportunity to influence and strengthen educational provision across the county. You will play a key role in shaping high-quality, inclusive education—ensuring every child thrives, every practitioner grows, and every school improves.
As a senior leader within the School Improvement Service, you will contribute to system-wide practice, support school leaders, and help deliver excellence across a diverse and vibrant education landscape.
About the Role
As a senior leader, you will:
Provide strategic oversight of primary and early years provision, securing high standards in teaching and learning.
Promote collaboration, robust self-evaluation, and evidence-informed practice across schools.
Offer high-quality support, challenge, and professional guidance aligned with the Curriculum for Wales and national priorities.
Lead key priorities including wellbeing, equity, and high quality teaching and learning.
Work closely with headteachers, governing bodies, and partners to strengthen leadership and governance.
Develop colleagues within the School Improvement Service, building capacity across the system.
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking an accomplished and inspirational leader with a proven track record of securing sustained impact across education settings. You will have a strong understanding of excellence in early years and primary education.
You will inspire, support, and challenge others to achieve high standards, while championing the outcomes and wellbeing of children and young people across Carmarthenshire.
You will bring:
A deep understanding of curriculum design, effective pedagogy, and system leadership.
The credibility and confidence to influence stakeholders and lead change across schools and services.
Integrity, energy, and strategic vision, with the ability to translate priorities into measurable impact.
Fluency in both Welsh and English is essential, with high-level written and spoken skills.
