Position Overview of Production Team Leader
We’re looking for a proactive and confident Production Team Leader to guide our busy production team. Reporting to the Production Co-Ordinator, this role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced operational environment, develops others effectively and takes pride in delivering safe, efficient, high‑quality manufacturing output. As a key part of our operation, you’ll oversee a team of machinists, assemblers and fabricators working from engineering drawings to produce components and assemblies across a range of materials including timber, metal, foam and plastics. You’ll ensure schedules are met, quality standards are upheld, and the team works cohesively to support the wider business.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and update the manufacturing work‑to‑list to ensure clear priorities and steady workflow.
- Maintain focus on the monthly production forecast, ensuring the team’s output supports wider operational commitments.
- Lead, motivate and support the manufacturing team, maintaining discipline, consistency and high standards of behaviour and performance.
- Update and review key performance indicators including PvA and OTD, ensuring progress is tracked and communicated.
- Uphold safe working practices across all manufacturing activities, always ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements.
- Oversee equipment and tool requirements, ensuring maintenance, readiness and safe operation.
- Monitor attendance and timekeeping, completing RTW discussions promptly and professionally.
- Conduct regular Gemba walks to observe processes, identify issues and support continuous improvement.
- Carry out timely SR1 meetings to address performance, behaviour or operational concerns.
- Identify training requirements and support the development of machinists, assemblers and fabricators.
- Facilitate the resolution of production related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to workflow.
- Assist in estimating labour times for manufacturing tasks and assemblies.
- Develop the team’s skillset to strengthen capability across machining, assembly and fabrication.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to liaise across multiple departments.
- Ability to work independently while fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Basic IT skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office; training will be given on in-house systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A commitment to quality, reliability, and continuous learning.
- Focused on delivering against a plan and forecast while staying dynamic in how that delivery is achieved.

Pay: £27,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
