If you're a NPD Technologist looking for more ownership, this could be the step up you've been waiting for.
This is a varied role that combines product development, customer interaction, and team leadership. You'll take ownership of development projects from brief through to launch, working closely with customers, commercial teams, operations, and the wider R&D function to bring new products to market.
You'll act as the main R&D contact on site, supporting both NPD and EPD activity while helping integrate products, recipes, and systems into the wider business. Alongside managing your own projects, you'll also support and develop an R&D Technologist, helping to build capability within the team.
This is a hands-on role that would suit someone who enjoys being close to the products, working collaboratively across the business, and seeing projects through from concept to launch.
What you'll be doing
- Leading NPD and EPD projects from customer brief through to launch
- Managing and developing an R&D Technologist
- Working closely with commercial, process, technical, and operations teams
- Supporting customer visits, presentations, and first productions
- Contributing to ingredient rationalisation and product improvement projects
- Attending supplier days, workshops, and industry events to stay up to date with trends and innovation
- Supporting the wider R&D team with technical knowledge and project delivery
What you'll need
- Experience within an FMCG food manufacturing R&D or NPD environment
- Strong project management and organisational skills
- Confident communicator who enjoys working with customers and internal stakeholders
- A proactive approach and genuine passion for food development
