We are looking for an experienced and qualified Carpenter to join our growing team. This is a full-time role working across hospital sites in Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch.
The successful candidate will combine high-quality carpentry skills with fire door inspection and surveying responsibilities, helping to ensure compliance, safety and quality within healthcare environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out a range of carpentry and maintenance works.
- Conduct detailed fire door inspections in line with current fire safety regulations.
- Record inspection findings accurately using digital reporting systems.
- Identify defects and recommend or carry out remedial works where required.
- Work safely and professionally within occupied hospital environments.
- Liaise with site staff and management to ensure work is completed efficiently and with minimal disruption.
Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry (or equivalent qualification).
- Proven experience as a qualified carpenter.
- Good knowledge of fire doors and fire door compliance.
- Ability to carry out detailed inspections and produce accurate reports.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
- Fire Door Inspection qualification (FDIS or equivalent).
- Previous experience working in hospitals, healthcare, or other live environments.
- Knowledge of current fire safety legislation and building regulations.
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
