I'm currently recruiting on behalf of my client for an experienced Fleet Manager to join their growing operation based in South Normanton.

The Role
As Fleet Manager, you'll take ownership of the Cost Control and Administration teams, ensuring both functions operate efficiently while continually looking for ways to improve processes, service delivery and profitability.
You'll play a key role in supplier management, commercial performance and operational excellence, working closely with internal departments and external partners to ensure contractual obligations, SLAs and financial targets are consistently achieved.
This role would suit someone who is commercially minded, highly organised and confident managing people, processes and supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop and support the Cost Control and Fleet Administration teams.
- Ensure workloads are effectively managed, including WIP invoicing and cost control activity.
- Analyse repair and maintenance costs, ensuring invoices align with agreed supplier rates and SLAs.
- Manage supplier relationships, monitoring both operational and financial performance against KPIs.
- Support contract negotiations and oversee customer contract management, including annual CPI/RPI increases.
- Assist with customer implementations and offboarding to ensure seamless transitions.
- Work collaboratively with internal departments to ensure processes remain aligned and any commercial changes are communicated effectively.
- Review and improve operational processes, introducing new SOPs where required.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, set objectives and identify training and development needs across the team.
- Produce performance reports and provide recommendations to support the Head of Fleet Operations.
What I'm Looking For
- Previous experience within a Fleet Operations, Fleet Management or Transport Management role.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to assess and challenge vehicle repair costs.
- Experience managing operational or commercial teams.
- Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision making.
- Comfortable working with Microsoft Office, CRM systems and fleet management software.
- A proactive mindset with excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Someone who takes ownership, is accountable and enjoys improving processes.
