An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Packaging Team Operator to join our Brewery team.
Working as part of our Packaging Team, you'll play a key role in ensuring our award-winning beers are prepared, packaged and ready for distribution to our pubs and customers. Operating our packaging lines, you'll be responsible for cleaning, preparing and filling casks and kegs safely and efficiently, whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality, hygiene and food safety.
This is a hands-on role within a busy production environment where teamwork, attention to detail and a proactive approach are essential. As our Brewery continues to grow, we're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, reliable and keen to develop their skills within a long-established independent brewery.
Key Responsibilities
Packaging & Production
- Safely operate packaging machinery and production equipment used to clean, prepare and fill casks and kegs with beer.
- Ensure packaging lines are operated efficiently to achieve daily and weekly production targets.
- Carry out quality checks throughout the production process to ensure products meet Company standards.
- Identify faults or issues with equipment and take appropriate corrective action where required.
- Prepare finished products ready for storage and distribution.
Stock & Warehouse Operations
- Maintain effective stock rotation of packaging materials and finished products.
- Operate Fork Lift Trucks (FLT) and electronic pallet trucks safely and responsibly.
- Move stock and finished products throughout the Brewery as required.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials where necessary.
Cleaning, Hygiene & Safety
- Carry out Cleaning in Place (CIP) procedures using chemicals safely and in accordance with Company procedures.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, cleanliness and hygiene throughout the packaging area.
- Adhere to all Company Health, Safety and Food Safety procedures at all times.
- Report any equipment faults, hazards or safety concerns promptly.
Teamwork & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with colleagues across the Brewery to ensure production runs smoothly.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and suggest ways to improve efficiency where appropriate.
- Assist with other Brewery duties as required to support operational needs.
About you
Essential
- Experience working within a manufacturing, production or packaging environment.
- Good understanding of production or packaging line processes.
- Reliable, flexible and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work effectively.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good level of physical fitness, as this is an active, manual role.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards.
Desirable
- FLT Licence, or willingness to work towards obtaining one.
- Experience operating automated production or packaging equipment.
- Experience working within a food, beverage or brewing environment.
- Basic fault-finding or mechanical problem-solving skills.
