Duties
- Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and brushing to meet each dog’s specific needs and breed standards
- Assess each pet’s coat condition and skin health, identifying any signs of health issues or discomfort
- Handle dogs safely and compassionately, ensuring a stress-free grooming experience
- Maintain a clean and sanitized grooming station, tools, and equipment to uphold hygiene standards
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand their grooming preferences and provide expert advice on animal care
- Assist with heavy lifting when handling larger or heavier dogs during grooming procedures
- Follow all safety protocols and veterinary guidelines to ensure the well-being of animals at all times
Experience
- Previous experience in animal care or grooming is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to handle animals with patience, kindness, and confidence
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with pet owners
- Physical stamina for activities such as standing for long periods, bending, and lifting heavy dogs
- Knowledge of different coat types, grooming techniques, and breed-specific standards is advantageous
- Willingness to learn new grooming styles and stay updated on best practices in animal care
