Independent Regulation 44 Visitor – Blackpool / St Annes Area

We are seeking an experienced and professional Independent Regulation 44 Visitor to complete independent visits to a children’s residential home in the St Annes area.
Applicants may live in Blackpool, St Annes, Lytham, Fleetwood, Preston or any surrounding area within reasonable travelling distance of St Annes.
The successful applicant will assess the quality of care provided, speak with children and staff, review relevant records and produce a clear, accurate and objective written report following each visit.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete independent Regulation 44 visits at the children’s home
- Speak with children, young people, staff and managers
- Review safeguarding records, care documentation, incidents and complaints
- Assess whether children are being safeguarded and their wellbeing is being promoted
- Identify good practice, concerns and areas for improvement
- Submit a detailed written report within the agreed timeframe
- Maintain professional independence, confidentiality and impartiality
Essential Requirements
- Relevant experience in children’s residential care, safeguarding, social work, education or a related field
- Good understanding of safeguarding children and young people
- Strong report-writing and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and objectively
- Enhanced DBS check, or willingness to obtain one
- Access to reliable transport and the ability to travel to St Annes
- Appropriate professional indemnity insurance if working on a self-employed basis
Previous experience completing Regulation 44 visits is highly desirable.
Payment
£200 per completed visit, including the written report.
