Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Nursery Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within our nursery premises. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all areas are hygienic and well-organised, supporting the overall wellbeing of children and staff. This behind-the-scenes role is essential to the smooth running of our school and your attention to detail will make a meaning ful difference everyday. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in cleaning in a similar environment to contribute to a nurturing setting. The position is paid and suitable for those committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness in a childcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of nursery rooms, play areas, bathrooms and communal spaces using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Carry out additional or one-off cleaning tasks asrequired.
- Work flexibly, adapting to events and activities.
- Assist in kitchen with simple tasks if required eg. during staff holidays.
- Restock supplies such as tissues, hand sanitiser, and cleaning products as needed.
- Follow health and safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents or contamination.
- Report any maintenance issues or hazards promptly to management.
- Use and store cleaning materials safely in line with COSHH regulations.
Qualifications
- Experience in cleaning, ideally within a Nursery/school setting or similar environment.
- Understanding of COSHH and safe cleaning procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative.
- Punctual, reliable and professional at al times.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and schedules as required.
- Commitment to safeguarding and the well being of children and young people.
About Us
We are a private, family run Nursery based in Bamber Bridge, Preston. We have seven different Nursery rooms and on an average day cater for around 100 children aged 6 months - 4 years. Additionally we have several outdoor areas and some office/communal spaces.

Pay: £13.00 per hour
