Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer – Food Manufacturing
Location: Wellingborough
Salary: Up to £47,000 per annum
Shifts: Double Days – rotating early & late Monday to Friday (06:00–15:00 / 14:00–23:00)

At The Heavenly Bake Company Ltd, we produce large volumes of cakes and sweet treats for major UK retailers. Our engineering team plays a vital role in keeping production running efficiently, safely, and at the highest quality standards. We are now looking for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to support our high‑speed production environment.
The Role
This is a hands‑on engineering role within a fast‑paced food manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for maintaining, fault‑finding, and improving a wide range of bakery processing and packaging equipment, including mixers, ovens, conveyors, cutters, and wrapping machinery.
Key Responsibilities
· Carry out reactive and planned (PPM) maintenance on production and packaging equipment
· Fault‑find and repair mechanical and electrical issues to minimise downtime
· Maintain and repair industrial mixers, ovens, conveyors, and associated equipment
· Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety and food safety standards
· Accurately update maintenance records and CMMS systems
· Support continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives on site
· Work closely with production teams to support output and quality targets
What We’re Looking For
· NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
· Multi‑skilled with both mechanical and electrical fault‑finding experience
· Previous experience in food manufacturing, FMCG, or high‑speed production environments
· Strong knowledge of health & safety and safe‑working practices
· Proactive, flexible, and able to work under pressure
· A team‑focused approach with strong problem‑solving skills
