Overview
We are seeking a reliable and physically fit Delivery Driver specialising in manual handling to join our team. This role is the transporting of meat carcasses safely and efficiently while ensuring customer service. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving and warehouse operations, with a strong focus on safe manual handling practices. The position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, supporting the delivery of essential products across various locations.
Duties
- Safely operate company vehicles, driving vans, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies
- Load and unload goods, ensuring correct handling techniques to prevent injury and damage
- Deliver products to customers in a timely manner, maintaining professional communication with customers
- Assist with manual handling tasks such as lifting, carrying, and manoeuvring heavy or bulky items
- Complete delivery documentation accurately and promptly
- Conduct vehicle inspections before and after journeys, reporting any issues or damages
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the vehicle at all times
- Follow route plans efficiently, adapting as necessary for traffic or unforeseen circumstances
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, full clean uk driving liscence
- Previous warehouse experience is advantageous, particularly involving heavy lifting and manual handling tasks
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to manual handling and driving safety standards
- Ability to operate various types of delivery vehicles confidently and responsibly
- Physical fitness to perform heavy lifting tasks regularly and work on feet for extended periods
This role requires a dedicated individual committed to safe driving practices and efficient manual handling. Candidates should possess excellent organisational skills and a proactive approach to their duties.
The working hours are mon-fri 5.30am until 2pm, and a saturday 5.30am until 11.30am.
This business operates 6 days a week so saturdays are non negotiable.
Pay: From £14.00 per hour
