Hot Chemist Milton Keynes are looking for a motivated, organised and patient-focused Pharmacy Dispenser to join our growing distance selling pharmacy team.

The role would suit someone who takes pride in their work, has strong attention to detail and enjoys working as part of a busy pharmacy team. With Monday to Friday working and no weekends, the position also offers a consistent working pattern.
As a Pharmacy Dispenser, you will play a key role in the safe and accurate preparation and supply of prescription medication. You will work closely with pharmacists, dispensary colleagues and the wider pharmacy team to ensure prescriptions are processed efficiently while maintaining high standards of patient care, accuracy and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
- Prescription Dispensing: Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under the supervision of the pharmacist, ensuring all legal, clinical and procedural requirements are followed.
- Prescription Processing: Assist with the processing, labelling and assembly of prescriptions using pharmacy dispensing systems and internal procedures.
- Patient Communication: Provide professional and compassionate customer service through telephone, email and digital communication platforms, responding to patient queries in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain compliance with General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) standards, company SOPs, GDPR requirements and all relevant pharmacy legislation.
- Stock Management: Support the management of pharmaceutical stock including ordering, receiving deliveries, date checking, stock rotation and maintaining appropriate stock levels.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medication records, prescription documentation and dispensing audit trails.
- Distance Selling Operations: Support the day-to-day running of the distance selling pharmacy service, including prescription preparation for dispatch and coordination with the delivery team.
- Pharmacy Systems: Use pharmacy software systems confidently and accurately to process prescriptions, manage patient records and support dispensing activities.
- Teamwork: Work collaboratively with pharmacists, dispensers, technicians and delivery drivers to ensure smooth pharmacy operations and excellent patient outcomes.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in ongoing training and development and contribute ideas that help us improve our processes, efficiency and patient service.
Qualifications & Skills Required
- Pharmacy Qualification: Applicants must hold an NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services, or an equivalent recognised pharmacy dispensing qualification.
- Pharmacy Experience: Previous experience working in a pharmacy environment preferred.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally with patients, healthcare professionals and colleagues.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent accuracy and attention to detail when handling prescriptions and patient information.
- Organisation Skills: Ability to prioritise workload, manage multiple tasks and work efficiently in a busy environment.
- Technical Skills: Confident using pharmacy dispensing systems, computers and digital communication platforms.
- Professionalism: Reliable, trustworthy and able to maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of pharmacy delivery and dispatch processes
- Experience using electronic prescription systems and pharmacy PMR systems
- Additional pharmacy or healthcare-related qualifications
