We’re looking for a hands-on Night Shift Cell Leader to take control of an 8-machine area on our injection moulding shop floor.
Hours of work 9.30pm - 06.00am Monday - Friday (5 Days per week)
You’ll lead operators, keep machines running, and ensure parts are produced right first time.
This is a shop floor role, not office-based — you’ll be out in the cell driving standards and performance.
Report directly to the Night Shift Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of operators within your cell
- Maximise machine uptime and ensure machines are correctly manned throughout the shift
- Carry out 4-hourly checks across 8 machines
- Check parts, packaging, and labelling meet spec
- Manage first-off / last-off samples
- Act fast on issues — stop production if needed
- Maintain H&S and 5S standards
- Record production data (InTouch system)
- Ensure operators are positioned correctly across the 8 machines.
- Escalate maintenance, process and quality problems immediately.
- Monitor downtime and react quickly to lost production.
- Complete a clear handover to the day shift.
- Manage breaks and operator cover so machines remain manned.
- Address poor standards and performance and escalate attendance concerns appropriately
- Work closely with the Night Shift Manager, setters and material handlers.
- Ensure scrap, rejects and production losses are correctly recorded.
- Monitor hourly output against target and take action where performance falls behind
- Responsibility for keeping the cell clean and ready for the next shift
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in manufacturing / injection moulding
- Previous team leader, senior operator, or setter experience
- Strong focus on quality and output
- Someone who takes ownership and fixes problems
- Confident leading people and maintaining standards
