Care Home Chef | Full Time | Monday to Friday | Southampton SO17 | 8:30 to 18:30
At St Anne's, mealtimes are one of the most important parts of our residents' day. We are looking for a chef who takes pride in preparing fresh, nutritious, home-cooked meals and who understands that what you cook genuinely matters to the people you are cooking for.
St Anne's is a nursing home in Portswood, Southampton. We are looking for a chef to join our kitchen team.
The role
You will cook from our established 4-week menu cycle, preparing meals tailored to each resident's dietary and nutritional needs. You will work alongside our Head Chef and Kitchen Assistants, and take full charge of the kitchen on the Head Chef's days off.
Shifts are 08:30 to 18:30 on a rotating rota Monday to Friday (occasional weekend duty as per mutual agreement)
What we need
- Nursing home or care home chef experience (minimum 1 year)
- Experience preparing texture-modified diets, or strong care home experience with a willingness to train
- Understanding of HACCP, COSHH, and allergen management
- Food Safety and Hygiene Certificate, Level 2 minimum
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Professional Cookery, or equivalent experience
- Confident running a kitchen independently
- Enhanced DBS required
