HGV Mechanic – Road Sweepers

The Role:
We are looking for a skilled HGV Mechanic to join our team in Bolton. The successful candidate will carry out maintenance, repairs, and inspections on our fleet of road sweepers and HGVs, including Volvo, DAF LF, and Iveco models.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults on HGVs and road sweeping equipment
- Carry out pre-MOT checks and ensure vehicles are maintained to a roadworthy standard
- Perform routine maintenance and servicing
- Respond to vehicle breakdowns when required
- Maintain accurate service records and job documentation
- Be committed to maintaining a safe working environment at all times
Requirements:
- Proven experience working with HGV vehicles
- Ideally a strong working knowledge of Volvo, DAF LF, and Iveco systems
- Experience carrying out pre-MOT inspections
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- Full UK driving licence (HGV licence preferred but not essential)
- Candidates should have a good awareness of general Health & Safety practices
