The Role
The highways team at Stockport Council maintains around 1,000km of road with drainage infrastructure, street furniture and road lining.
We are looking for an Engineer / Transportation Officer in the Network Asset Maintenance team within the Capital Delivery Service.
The successful applicant will have some highway maintenance experience. We are delivering highway planned maintenance services (structural and preventative) across the borough and the postholder will assist with the delivery of the programme. The role also includes responsibility for the delivery of highway drainage, weed control, car park maintenance schemes, small retaining wall and safety barrier repairs.
Flexible working arrangements are in place.
About You
The ideal candidate will have experience of preparing accurate records & reports, working to strict deadlines, delivery of planned highway maintenance schemes and liaising with other highway teams and key stakeholders.
