About TSS Facilities
TSS Facilities is an established facilities maintenance company providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, water hygiene and building maintenance services across Sussex and the South East.
We work within a wide range of environments, including Local Authority buildings, schools, NHS properties, retail premises and other commercial facilities.
We are currently looking for a qualified Plumber to join our growing team and undertake planned and reactive plumbing remedial works throughout Sussex.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for completing a wide range of plumbing repairs, maintenance and remedial works. The role will primarily involve commercial buildings, with a smaller element of domestic work where required.
This is a mobile, field-based position. Travel will generally be within approximately 45 minutes of Brighton, although occasional travel outside this area may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive plumbing repairs and remedial works.
- Diagnose plumbing faults and determine the most appropriate repair.
- Repair and replace taps, toilets, pipework, valves, pumps and associated plumbing components.
- Undertake works to hot and cold-water systems.
- Complete minor installations and alterations to existing plumbing systems.
- Work within commercial properties, schools, NHS buildings, Local Authority premises, retail sites and occasional domestic properties.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, professionally and in accordance with relevant regulations and company procedures.
- Complete job reports, risk assessments, photographs and timesheets accurately using a company-provided PDA.
- Clearly record any additional works or recommendations identified while attending site.
- Communicate professionally with customers, site representatives and the TSS Facilities office team.
- Maintain the company vehicle, tools, equipment and PPE in good condition.
- Follow site-specific procedures and comply with all health and safety requirements.
Skills and Experience Required
- Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing or an equivalent recognised qualification.
- Previous experience completing plumbing maintenance and remedial works.
- Experience working within commercial buildings is preferred.
- Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent record keeping and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage an allocated workload.
- Professional and customer-focused approach.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Full, current UK driving licence.
An Unvented Hot Water qualification is preferred; however, training can be provided for the right candidate.
Salary and Overtime
The salary for this position is based on a minimum contracted requirement of 40 hours per week.
Overtime is available and is paid at a premium rate for hours worked beyond eight hours per day.
Travel time is paid beyond the first hour, where applicable and in accordance with company policy.

Probationary Period
The position is subject to a three-month probationary period.
During probation, either party may terminate employment by providing one week’s notice. Following successful completion of probation, the notice period will increase to one month.
Work Location
This is a mobile, field-based role and cannot be performed remotely. Engineers will travel directly to customer sites throughout Sussex using the company-provided vehicle.
