Are you a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding new opportunity this September? We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Enfield seeking an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs.
Location: Enfield, North London
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, Agency Supply (with potential for a long-term or permanent position)
Salary: Competitive daily rate, dependent on experience
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Support children with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH).
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual education and support plans.
- Adapt learning activities to meet pupils' individual needs and encourage engagement in lessons.
- Promote pupils' confidence, independence, and social development.
- Help create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience working with children with SEND in a school or similar setting.
- Is patient, empathetic, and passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
- Has excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
- Can build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Holds a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or SEN training (desirable but not essential).
