The Yorkshire Water Health & Safety Assurance Framework aims to support the client’s health and safety assurance needs, promoting collaborative working, innovation and continual operational improvement across the Yorkshire Water supply chain. The team provides expertise in CDM (Construction, Design and Management) regulation compliance, design phase process and construction site safety to help Yorkshire Water in the efficient delivery of its investment programme.
The Senior SHE Advisor/ H&S Consultant will help to drive excellence in health and safety performance across Yorkshire Water’s Capital Delivery programme. As a specialist in H&S assurance, you will deliver programme-wide risk management, lead independent audits, and collaborate closely with all stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement, regulatory compliance, and best practice adoption. Your work will play a critical role in protecting people, ensuring safe delivery, and building a resilient assurance culture.
The role will be mainly site based (80%) with 1/2 days working from home (20%).

Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities
Deliver health and safety assurance activities across all Capital Delivery projects, ensuring alignment with Yorkshire Water’s expectations, regulatory requirements and relevant management systems.
Deliver rigorous, structured audits across pre-construction and construction phases, covering site safety, logistics, design risk management, subcontractor control, and compliance with H&S legislation.
Undertake supply chain competence assessments and assurance activities to ensure that contractors and designers meet the highest standards for health and safety capability.
Support and oversee CDM (Construction Design and Management) compliance activities as part of the overall assurance approach, ensuring integration of CDM roles and responsibilities.
Actively support the delivery of the annual Contract and Group SHE Objectives
Actively lead and/or support tasks involving ‘deep dive’ reviews of Capital Delivery Partners’ procedures and overall compliance.
Support the timely reporting, analysis, and use of SHE data to support and influence the Contract Leadership Team and where required support the development and implementation of data-based improvement plans.
