Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Team at Sherwood Primary School as our new Site Supervisor. The Site Supervisor role at Sherwood is essential in ensuring that the school environment remains clean, safe, and well-maintained for pupils, staff, and visitors. This role also requires a reliable and safety-conscious individual to lead and maintain a high standard of cleanliness and presentation of our grounds and building. We are an outstanding Primary School with 428 pupils on roll and the successful candidate will be a key and valuable part of our team and our school journey moving forward.
We are looking for a reliable person who can contribute to the smooth running of our school, maintain high standards of cleanliness and focus on site supervision, cleaning and general maintenance duties. The working hours are 17.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday 3.15-6.45pm).
Your responsibilities will include:
- Securing the school premises and acting as a key holder
- Carrying out cleaning duties to a high standard
- Undertaking minor repairs and basic DIY tasks
- Monitoring site safety, cleanliness and maintenance needs
- Supporting health and safety procedures, including routine checks
- Preparing the school for events, lettings and out-of-hours activities
- Responding to emergency situations, including call-outs where required
- Supporting and allocating tasks to cleaning staff where appropriate
About You

- Has an awareness of health and safety practices
- Is willing to undertake training and development
- Experience in cleaning, caretaking, maintenance or security-related duties is desirable, but not essential.
- Practical DIY skills and experience using tools or equipment would be advantageous.

The post is advertised as term time only plus three weeks in school holidays for deep cleaning and other duties. Please note Leave of Absence cannot be authorised in term time. On a few occasions during the year, there may be the need to be flexible in terms of start and finish times to support access for contractors to site. This position is part time, term time only, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent. If successful, the salary received will be paid on a pro rata basis.
