We are looking for an inspiring, values-led Chief Executive to lead the charity through its next stage of development. This is a significant opportunity for an experienced leader to work closely with the Board of Trustees, senior leadership team, staff, commissioners, families and the people we support to sustain and grow high-quality outreach and supported living services for people with learning disabilities and autism.
You will lead a skilled and committed staff team within a welcoming and collaborative culture whilst being supported by the active and experienced board of trustees. The successful candidate will provide strategic direction, strengthen governance and quality assurance, oversee compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, and act as the organisation's lead spokesperson. As the role includes responsibility for being the CQC Nominated Individual, they must be able to demonstrate good character, suitable qualifications, competence, skills and experience, and the ability to supervise the management of regulated activity on behalf of the provider. They will bring strong leadership, financial oversight, safeguarding judgement, stakeholder management and a clear commitment to person-centred, safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led support.
Absolute Support Leading Light are a small local charity based in Richmond-upon-Thames supporting people with learning disabilities and autism. Founded in 2006 and registered as a charity in 2019, Absolute Support has built a solid reputation as a caring provider with a warm and supportive home setting for the people we support. Through our two community-based, supported living homes and via a small outreach service, we work to enable 11 young adults to live happy and meaningful lives.
We are looking for someone who can:
- Lead the charity's strategic direction and annual business planning.
- Provide strong financial oversight and budget management, working with the board and treasurer.
- Someone with excellent communication and relationship building skills who can engage positively with our clients, staff and wider stakeholders to achieve the best possible outcomes.
- Support and advise the Board of trustees with clear reporting and sound judgement.
- Act as CQC nominated individual and supervise the management of regulated activity on behalf of the charity.
- Oversee quality assurance, safeguarding, service performance and regulatory compliance, including CQC fundamental standards and the evidence required to demonstrate safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led services.
- Ensure the charity has robust systems for governance, risk management, incident learning, complaints, audits, staff competency and continuous improvement.
- Develop staff, strengthen management structure and promote a culture of support, engagement and wellbeing.
- Build constructive relationships with commissioners, families, partner organisations, regulators and other stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for sustainable growth, funding and service improvement.
