Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Paint Prepper/Sprayer specialising in the coating of shipping containers. This role involves preparing for paint and applying protective and decorative paint finishes to containers, ensuring durability and quality standards are met. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of painting techniques, mechanical knowledge, and experience working within a production line environment. Duties
- Prepare shipping containers for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking areas as required
- Operate spray guns and other power tools to apply paint or protective coatings evenly across container surfaces
- Mix paints and coatings accurately using basic maths skills to ensure correct colour matching and consistency
- Use hand tools for minor repairs or adjustments prior to painting
- Perform fabrication tasks such as cutting or welding components when necessary for container modifications
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Inspect finished surfaces for quality assurance, ensuring coatings are applied correctly without defects
- Assist with assembly or disassembly of container parts during preparation or finishing stages
Qualifications
- Proven experience in industrial painting, construction painting, or warehouse environments involving spray painting techniques
- Mechanical knowledge with familiarity in handling hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication processes
- Basic maths skills for mixing paints and measuring materials accurately
- Experience with assembly or fabrication tasks is advantageous
- Knowledge of welding processes is desirable but not essential
- Previous experience working with shipping containers or similar large structures is preferred
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety standards and quality control

Pay: £14.00-£14.65 per hour
