An exciting opportunity to join one of Britain’s most respected and award-winning, independent breweries, where tradition, integrity and quality still take centre stage.
Why join Timothy Taylor’s?
At Timothy Taylor’s, we don’t just serve food, we create experiences. Still proudly independent, our pubs have built a reputation for doing things the right way, not the easy way. That goes for our people too.
We’re now looking for a passionate Supervisor to join our team on a part-time basis. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy leading and supporting a team, and are committed to delivering great customer experiences, this could be your perfect next step.
The role: Supervisor
To support the management team in delivering an exceptional guest experience within a premium town pub and restaurant environment. The Supervisor will lead by example to ensure consistently high operational, service, and beer quality standards, while creating a welcoming and professional atmosphere for guests and team members alike. The role plays a key part in upholding Timothy Taylor’s reputation for quality, particularly through excellence in cask ale presentation, cellar management, and customer hospitality.
This is a part-time role, 10 hours per week, with shifts across Monday to Sunday. Flexibility is required to cover evenings, weekends and public holidays.
Key responsibilities:
- Open and close the business following company procedures, including cashing up tills accurately and securely.
- Run shifts confidently, making operational decisions when required.
- Supervise and motivate the team on shift, providing direction and support as needed.
- Work closely with senior management to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Manage the cellar to ensure beer quality and service standards are maintained.
- Support ordering processes, liaising with suppliers and monitoring stock levels.
- Ensure all guests receive a warm welcome and professional service throughout their visit.
- Respond promptly and professionally to emails, booking requests and general enquiries.
- Maintain cleanliness, organisation and safety across bar, kitchen and accommodation areas.
- Ensure compliance with licensing, health and safety and food hygiene regulations.
- Step in across any department as required during busy periods.
- Assist with events, promotions, and other business activities.
Who we’re looking for
We’d love someone who:
- Knowledge of cellar management and stock control procedures.
- Understanding of licensing laws, food safety and health and safety standards.
- Experience handling cash and completing end-of-day reconciliations.
- Previous supervisory experience within a pub, bar or restaurant.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- A positive, proactive attitude with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Flexible approach to working evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
Nice to have (but not essential):
- Experience working with Timothy Taylor’s or similar premium cask ale brands.
- Personal Licence Holder.
- First Aid certification.
What makes this role rewarding?
- You’ll make a real impact – your leadership, skills and attention to detail will help deliver the exceptional service and experiences our guests remember.
- You’ll keep growing – we’ll support you in developing your leadership skills, building confidence and progressing your career within the business.
- You’ll be part of something special – a team that works together, takes pride in what they do and is passionate about creating memorable experiences for our guests.
