Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sous Chef to join our Kitchen Team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. As a key member of our kitchen staff, the Sous Chef will support the Head Chef in managing daily operations, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety are maintained. Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and high standards of food preparation.
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance monitoring to foster a cohesive team environment.
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen area.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock ordering, and minimise waste through efficient utilisation of ingredients.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction.
- Contribute to menu development by suggesting innovative dishes and seasonal specials.
- Maintain a positive working environment by demonstrating leadership, professionalism, and excellent communication skills.
Requirements
- Proven experience in food production, cooking, and kitchen management within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Supervising experience is essential; previous team management roles are highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
- Good understanding of food preparation techniques, culinary trends, and restaurant operations.
- Previous experience in hospitality or serving roles is advantageous but not mandatory.
- A recognised culinary qualification or equivalent experience is preferred.
