We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Years Practitioner to join our well-established wonderful team as part of our growing bank staff team. Mulberry Bush Montessori is based in the vibrant and diverse area of Finnieston in Glasgow. There are excellent transport routes via train and bus as well as off street parking for those who drive.
Our team make the most of the wonderful surrounding area and its amenities, such as Kelvingrove Park, Kelvingrove Art galleries aswell as The Tall Ship and Riverside museum.
This post would suit practitioners that cannot commit to a permanent fixed day week contract. Variable days/hours working on a weekly basis can be accommodated. This can be discussed at interview.
Duties
- Work as part of a well-established team to provide high quality childcare and education based on The Montessori method, ethos and principals of education.
- Supervise, observe and support children during learning, play, mealtimes, and rest periods
- Foster a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment adhering to health and safety regulations
- Maintain accurate termly records of children's development and progress
- Maintain daily information on children to feedback to parents
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop programmes that meet individual children's needs
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding children's development and daily activities
- Lead by example in maintaining high standards of childcare practice and professionalism
- Assist with organising outings or trips
- Manage behaviour positively by role modelling
Requirements
- A recognised childcare qualification, such as SVQ 3, HNC or NNEB.
- A minimum of 1 year post qualification experience
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare regulations
- Ability to work effectively within a team whilst demonstrating initiative
- A caring attitude, patience, organisation skills, and the ability to adapt to the individual needs of children
Knowledge of Montessori principals is not a requirement but a passion and wish to learn about them will be given to the successful candidate.
