Role Overview
We are looking for an organised and proactive Fulfilment Assistant to join our fulfilment team, playing a hands-on role in picking, packing and dispatching customer orders. This is a varied role at the heart of our operation, helping to keep stock, orders and the picking and packing area running smoothly on a day-to-day basis. The role also involves preparing customs documentation for import and export shipments, so accuracy and attention to detail are essential.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently and using their own initiative, while also communicating clearly and proactively with the wider team to keep everyone informed on order status and any issues that arise. Flexibility and a solutions-focused approach are key as challenges do occur.
Key Responsibilities
- Pick, pack and dispatch orders accurately and efficiently for both business (B2B) and consumer (B2C) customers.
- Help keep the warehouse, picking area and packing area tidy, organised and safe to work in.
- Support accurate stock records and flag any stock discrepancies to the Production Manager.
- Liaise with couriers and logistics providers to book collections, track shipments and ensure all orders are delivered on time.
- Help resolve delivery issues (delays, damages, lost parcels) promptly, working with couriers and customers as needed.
- Prepare customs documentation for imported and exported goods, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and avoiding delays for customers.
- Adapt daily workload in response to changing order volumes, courier deadlines and business needs.
- Communicate clearly and regularly with colleagues across the business to keep them updated on order progress, stock levels and any potential issues.
- Suggest improvements to fulfilment processes and ways of working where opportunities arise.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines when carrying out warehouse activity.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a warehouse, fulfilment, logistics or dispatch role is desirable.
- Experience preparing customs documentation for imports/exports is an advantage.
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Confident using initiative and working independently when required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable liaising directly with couriers, suppliers and internal teams.
- Basic IT skills, including experience with stock management or order processing systems (training can be provided).
- Physically able to carry out manual handling tasks associated with warehouse work.
