Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Unit Manager to oversee the daily operations of our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of senior and patient care, with a proven track record in managing multidisciplinary teams and ensuring high-quality service delivery. As a Unit Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating clinical and administrative functions, fostering a compassionate environment, and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards. This role offers an opportunity to lead a dynamic team committed to providing exceptional care to diverse populations, including individuals with disabilities, dementia, or requiring hospice support.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise healthcare staff, including nurses, caregivers, and support personnel, ensuring effective team management and professional development.
- Oversee patient care plans, ensuring individualized treatment approaches that meet medical and emotional needs.
- Coordinate with medical professionals to facilitate case management, medication administration, and specialized care such as Alzheimer’s or dementia care.
- Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations, safety protocols, and quality standards across all operational areas.
- Manage daily facility operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, and inventory control for medical supplies and equipment.
- Support residents’ or clients’ well-being by fostering a nurturing environment that promotes dignity and independence.
- Implement policies related to assisted living, home care services, hospice care, and other specialized programs tailored to resident needs.
Skills
- Extensive experience in assisted living or nursing home environments with a focus on senior care and dementia management.
- Proven leadership skills in supervising multidisciplinary teams within healthcare settings.
- Knowledge of anatomy, medical imaging procedures, laboratory processes, and medication administration protocols.
- Strong background in case management, patient care coordination, and managing individuals with disabilities or special needs such as toddlers or individuals requiring hospice support.
- Familiarity with Alzheimer’s care practices and experience working with individuals suffering from cognitive impairments.
- Ability to handle complex situations involving ICU experience or laboratory testing while maintaining composure under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills coupled with organizational abilities necessary for supervising staff and interacting effectively with residents or clients.
