We are seeking a Barista/Coffee Shop Assistant to join us in a busy daytime only coffee shop.
Chaplins Shake Shop is coffee shop based down in Selsey that sells hot and cold beverages, homemade bakes on the counter, hot and cold food, waffles, crepes and ice cream. We also offer afternoon tea. The shop seats up to 38 in an open plan setting, which comprises of 30 indoors and a further 8 uncovered outdoor seating.
Weekend working will be required. No evening work. Hours/days to be set in advance using a rota basis. Hours to be discussed at interview.
Role Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and milkshakes.
- Greet customers politely and take their orders via the till system, providing friendly and attentive service.
- Occasional food preparation tasks as required, ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are maintained at all times.
- Serve counter food items.
- Maintain cleanliness of the work areas and counters, clearing and wiping tables, and wiping down equipment.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times.
- Assist in restocking supplies and maintaining stock levels to ensure smooth daily operations.
Essential Skills
- Previous barista experience.
- Hospitality experience.
- A team player with good communication skills, who enjoys working in a busy environment.
- Punctual with excellent time management skills.
- Ability to work independently at times.
- Flexible and able to work across weekends.
