About SHARE
SHARE is a small but ambitious charity based in Chester and North Wales, making a real and practical difference in the lives of people experiencing homelessness, while also supporting refugees locally, nationally and overseas.
Our direct homeless support services are delivered from the SHARE Homeless Action Centre (SHAC) in the heart of Chester. SHAC provides a safe, welcoming and structured environment where people can access food, practical support, guidance, enrichment opportunities and links to the services they need.
People are at the heart of everything we do. As part of our long-term strategy, we are continuing to strengthen and professionalise our support services, ensuring every person who walks through our doors is treated with dignity, compassion and respect.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, compassionate and resilient Homeless Services Support Worker to join our growing team.
The Role
This is a varied frontline role supporting people experiencing homelessness and other complex challenges. Working alongside colleagues, volunteers and partner organisations, you will help create a safe, welcoming and supportive environment while encouraging people to take positive steps towards greater independence.
No two days are the same. You may be welcoming visitors, supporting day-to-day centre activities, maintaining accurate records, liaising with partner agencies or simply providing a listening ear when it is needed most.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Compassionate, patient and non-judgemental.
- Calm and resilient under pressure.
- Confident communicating with people from a wide range of backgrounds.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Organised and confident using computers and maintaining written records.
- Committed to safeguarding, equality and treating everyone with dignity and respect.
Experience in homelessness, housing, mental health, addiction services, safeguarding or support work is desirable but not essential. Full training will be provided for the right candidate.
What We Offer
- £15.38 per hour.
- Flexible part-time hours from 15 hours per week.
- Daytime working only, Monday to Friday.
- Ongoing training and development.
- A supportive, friendly team environment.
- The opportunity to make a genuine difference to people's lives every day.
