JOB OVERVIEW
Summit Hygiene is a growing janitorial and hygiene supplier based in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, and we're looking for a Delivery Driver to join our operations team.
This is a role for someone who takes pride in doing the job properly. Our drivers are the face of Summit Hygiene — often the only person from our team a customer sees — so we're looking for someone who's approachable, reliable and happy to go a step further to help. You'll be driving a long wheelbase van on regular routes across the home counties, London (including central) and the surrounding area, making sure every delivery arrives on time and complete.
This is a light multi-drop type delivery round typically up to 20 drops but will vary. That said its not for the light-hearted and involves support for warehouse in loading and more support for the customer if they require.

Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday, 07:00–16:30. Some flexibility is needed around these hours (never starting before 05:30 or finishing after 18:00), and occasionally you may start or finish from home — so you'll need somewhere safe to park the van.
What we offer: Starting salary from £29,000 depending on experience; 30 days annual leave including bank holidays, plus an extra day off for your birthday; lunch provided when you're on site; full training and genuine support to develop in the role.
A few practical points: For insurance purposes you'll need to be over 23 with a full UK licence held for at least two years, and ideally a clean licence (no more than 3 points). Van driving experience is essential and London experience is a real plus. A DBS check is required for some of our client sites. The role is physical — you'll be handling a good volume of goods each day — and living locally to Leighton Buzzard is ideal.
DUTIES
- Drive a long wheelbase van on regular routes across the home counties, London (including central) and surrounding areas
- Deliver customer orders on time and in full, taking care that everything arrives in good condition
- Represent Summit Hygiene on site — be the friendly, helpful face our customers look forward to seeing
- Go the extra mile where it's welcome, such as placing stock directly into a customer's cupboard rather than leaving it at reception
- Load and unload the van safely, handling goods with care
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and keep the van clean, safe and roadworthy
- Complete delivery paperwork and records accurately
- Support the warehouse team where required
