Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Nursery Cook to join our team at Little Beehive Nursery in Fife. In this role, you will prepare nutritious meals for our young children, ensuring their dietary needs are met with the highest standards of food safety and quality. Your contribution will support our commitment to providing a healthy and enjoyable learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook healthy, age-appropriate meals for children in accordance with dietary guidelines.
- Ensure all food is prepared in a clean and safe environment following food safety regulations.
- Manage kitchen stock levels and order supplies as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of food allergies, dietary restrictions, and meal plans.
- Collaborate with nursery staff to plan menus that meet nutritional standards.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of food ingredients.
- Support the nursery’s commitment to hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen.
- Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation or culinary roles, preferably within childcare or similar settings.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
- Ability to prepare nutritious meals suitable for young children.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of allergen management and dietary restrictions.
- Previous kitchen or restaurant experience is advantageous.
