This is an exciting opportunity to join the small, high-profile team responsible for managing our Annual Performance Report from data collection through assurance to document publication.
Our Annual Performance Report comprises a wealth of financial and non-financial information for our stakeholders along with showcasing our brand. You’ll be a critical contact point for a substantial network of business teams and gain valuable insights into the incredible variety of responsibilities and workstreams across Thames Water.
What you’ll be doing as a Regulatory Compliance and Reporting Business Partner
- You’ll work against a set of prescribed requirements to ensure data is ready on time and at the right standard, self-educating to become a regulatory expert in the areas assigned to you.
- All Annual Performance Report data must be carefully catalogued to enable informed analysis and prompt responses to future queries
- Records must be constantly updated to help us to focus resources correctly and keep on track with meeting our deadlines.
- You’ll be confident to work independently but balance this with knowing when to speak up and escalate concerns
- You’ll be a confident and professional communicator able to articulate regulatory requirements and demonstrate how individual contributors fit into a greater goal.
- You will use your influencing skills, both internally and externally, such that regulatory outcomes are aligned with TWUL’s corporate aims, objectives and transformation plan
- Working with business teams to track and forecast our performance commitments, building an understanding of performance drivers and ensuring ‘in-year’ reporting risks are appropriately identified and resolved (escalating as required).
- Acting as a gatekeeper for our external regulators, including Ofwat, the Environment Agency and Drinking Water Inspectorate, by specifying and providing expert support and advice to business units on what is required to meet TWUL’s external reporting requirements

What you should bring to the role
To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you’ll need is:
- Working to deadlines and meticulous standards of data accuracy
- Strong O365 capabilities, including PowerBI and Excel
- Able to challenge and build relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders
- Creating meaningful information from large and complex datasets
- Working autonomously and pro-actively
- Working in a high energy business environment with a wide variety of stakeholders
