Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Cook to join our care home. The ideal candidate will have a strong background cooking and has good communication skills with out residents with a keen interest in food preparation and meal preparation. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality dishes.
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and kitchen hygiene standards.
- Assist in the planning of menus, taking into consideration dietary requirements and seasonal ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
- Monitor stock levels of ingredients and report any shortages to the kitchen manager.
- Help train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques and food safety practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Cook in a restaurant or similar kitchen environment.
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety, and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food preparation.
- A passion for cooking and creativity in meal presentation.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
