Are you an experienced gym or fitness club manager who thrives on leading a team, driving sales and creating an exceptional member experience?
Energie Fitness Putney is looking for an ambitious, commercially focused General Manager to take ownership of the club’s day-to-day operation and overall performance.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact — from growing membership and revenue to developing a high-performing team and ensuring the club operates to an exceptional standard.
We’re looking for someone who leads from the front, takes ownership and is motivated by achieving results.
The Role
As General Manager, you’ll have overall responsibility for the performance and operation of the club. You’ll lead and develop the team, drive membership growth and ensure our members receive an outstanding experience every time they visit.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Taking ownership of membership growth, retention, revenue and KPI performance.
- Leading, coaching and developing the club team, including the Assistant Club Manager, Membership Advisors, Personal Trainers and Cleaning Team.
- Driving membership sales through effective lead generation, follow-up and conversion.
- Creating a positive, accountable and results-driven team culture.
- Delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining strong member relationships.
- Building relationships within the local community to increase awareness and generate new business.
- Taking responsibility for the club’s day-to-day operations and ensuring everything runs efficiently.
- Maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness, presentation and equipment.
- Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety requirements, company procedures and industry regulations.
- Reviewing club performance, identifying areas for improvement and putting effective action plans in place.
What We’re Looking For
Previous gym or fitness club management experience is essential.
You’ll also need:
- A proven track record of achieving sales targets and delivering commercial results.
- Experience leading, coaching and developing a team.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate people while holding them accountable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commercially minded, proactive and hands-on approach.
- The confidence and resilience to perform in a target-driven environment.
- Flexibility to work weekends as part of the management rota.
