Job Summary
Howley Quay Motors LTD is a breakdown recovery specialist operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to the public, Cheshire Police, and the National Highways Agency.
We are seeking an experienced 7.5T driver with CPC recovery qualifications to join our team as a result of our recent contract expansion. We are looking for someone who is a team player, professional, and can work on their own initiative. We require the candidate to be ON CALL in the evenings with alternative weekend schedule.
Candidates will receive a standby rate, and a call out rate when ON CALL.
Various shifts available to be discussed at interview.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the recovery of accident/broken down vehicles with a high level of customer service.
Responsibilities & Key Information
- Operate flatbed lorries and other commercial vehicles in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies.
- Plan routes effectively to ensure timely delivery of goods to multiple locations.
- Carry out daily inspections of your vehicle.
- Creating job reports & inspecting vehicles to our company standards.
- Liaising with the office on job updates/requests.
- Be able to Pass Police Vetting checks.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles or similar heavy goods vehicles.
- Professional and approachable mindset.
- Strong driving skills with a clean driving record preferred.
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for transporting vehicles safely.
- Strong telephone communication skills.
- Vehicle knowledge is preferred.
- Geographical knowledge is preferred.
