Job Title: PCV Minibus Driver
Reporting to: Transport Manager, Aspire Together CIC
Working Hours: Varied - Monday to Friday and weekends
Work Location: Mobile (office base, Stowmarket)
Salary: £16.50 per hour.
Role Summary:
We are looking for an enthusiastic Minibus Driver to transport pre-booked passengers from point A to point B providing the highest standards of customer care and communication. Ideally with previous experience in securing wheelchair users safely in a vehicle. The driver has overall responsibility for the vehicle during the period of work. This role requires an Enhanced DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service). The successful applicant will be recruited by Aspire Together CIC to work for the charity Communities Together East Anglia and/or Aspire Together CIC.
Job Responsibilities:
· To safely drive the vehicles, within designated speed limits and traffic laws, on pre-arranged schedules
· To undertake daily checks on the vehicle before and after use ensuring they have been recorded, also reporting any defects to the Transport Manager.
· To work within Health & Safety guidelines and all Highway Code regulations, ensuring that all passengers wear seat belts and any wheelchairs are secured with appropriate retaining safety equipment.
· To ensure that driver hours, rest period and other duties are accurately recorded via the tachograph or by manual systems should any electronic system fail,
· To ensure any other driving hours for the period are recorded, especially when driving hours are not for the role, or where hours are worked for other transport providers under such licences and rules.
· To ensure that your driving Licence, Tachograph Card and CPC are in date and always available for checking by the Transport Manager when requested.
· To report or receive any relevant information relating to journeys and passengers through the transport team
· To report any accidents or incidents immediately to the Transport Manager
· To follow processes and systems that ensure the safety of all passengers, road users, staff teams and volunteers
· To refill the vehicle with the correct fuel using purchasing or fuel cards.
· To operate in-vehicle systems such as Satellite Navigation, Trackers and Dashboard Cameras within the law.
· To attend period pre-arranged refresher sessions and team meetings
· Attend regular 1-1 support sessions and appraisals appropriate to the role and hours worked
· To keep the vehicles in a clean and tidy condition and to clean them both inside and out as required.
· To promote the hire of vehicles to all passengers by means of distributing flyers, cards or other service materials.
· To undertake other duties that the Transport Manager identifies from time to time.
Knowledge/Experience required:
Essential:
· Hold a category D1 licence without the 101 code or a category D licence.
· Hold a current CPC, driver’s card and tachograph card.
· Effective verbal and written communication skills, with colleagues, professionals, and members of the public.
· Understanding of GDPR and Safeguarding practices.
· Be able to work flexible days & hours, including weekends and both early mornings/late nights.
