Deputy Residential Service Manager – Sheffield
New Specialist Residential Service Opening November
At Godfrey Care, our Deputy Residential Service Managers don't just support services — they help lead teams, shape culture, and deliver outstanding care.
We're looking for an experienced Deputy Residential Service Manager to join our brand-new specialist residential service in Sheffield, opening around November. This is an exciting opportunity to help build a service from the ground up, support the recruitment and development of a new team, and establish a positive, person-centred culture from day one.
What we offer
- The opportunity to help develop a brand-new residential service from the very beginning
- Strong regional, operational, and clinical support
- Ongoing training, leadership development, and clear career progression
- A leadership role where your contribution is valued and makes a real difference
- Financial benefits including a Blue Light Card, employee referral bonuses, and long-service awards
About the service
Our new Sheffield service will support adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs. Support will be tailored to each person's individual needs and may include 1:1, 2:1, or enhanced staffing levels.
As Deputy Residential Service Manager, you'll play an important role in mobilising the service ahead of its opening, supporting the recruitment and development of the team, embedding high standards of care, and helping to create an environment where people are supported to build independence, develop life skills, and enjoy meaningful lives within their community.
This is a hands-on leadership role where your support, organisation, and commitment to quality will help shape the success of the service.
Your role
Working alongside the Residential Service Manager, you'll help ensure the quality, safety, and performance of the service by:
- Supporting the mobilisation and successful opening of the new service
- Assisting with the day-to-day and 24-hour operational management of the home
- Promoting high-quality, person-centred care and positive outcomes
- Supporting compliance with CQC Fundamental Standards and relevant legislation
- Helping to embed Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and effective risk management
- Supervising, supporting, developing, and motivating the staff team
- Assisting with rotas, staffing, audits, occupancy, and other operational responsibilities
- Building positive relationships with families, commissioners, healthcare professionals, and internal stakeholders
- Acting as the Service Manager in their absence
You'll be supported throughout by an experienced Residential Service Manager, Area Manager, Internal PBS Specialist, and a wider leadership team committed to helping you succeed.
Who we're looking for
We're seeking a confident, resilient, and values-driven leader with experience supporting specialist residential services.
You'll bring:
- Experience working in a senior role within residential services supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs
- Good knowledge of CQC regulations and health and social care legislation
- Experience implementing Positive Behaviour Support and managing complex behaviours
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team development skills
- The ability to remain calm, professional, and decisive in challenging situations
- A Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care as a minimum
- Flexibility to meet the needs of the service during mobilisation and beyond
