Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista / Till Operator to join our vibrant team. This role involves preparing and serving high-quality beverages, managing the till, and ensuring excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee and food service, along with strong organisational skills to handle busy periods effectively. This position offers an engaging environment where you can develop your skills in food preparation and customer interaction.
Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of hot and cold beverages in accordance with company standards
- Operate the till efficiently, handling cash and card transactions accurately
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly and addressing their needs promptly
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area, including coffee machines and serving counters
- Ensure food safety standards are adhered to at all times
- Assist with food preparation tasks as required, including light snack assembly
- Manage queues during busy periods, ensuring timely service without compromising quality
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently to create a safe environment for staff and customers
Requirements
- Previous experience as a barista or in food service is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of food safety regulations is desirable
- Strong basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately
- Excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks during peak hours
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Good communication skills, with a friendly and approachable manner
- Flexibility to work during peak hours, including weekends if required
