Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our childcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with children and supporting their early development. This role involves ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children while maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. The Nursery Manager will also be responsible for leading a team of childcare professionals, organising activities, and fostering positive relationships with parents and guardians.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring high standards of care and education are maintained.
- Lead, motivate, and supervise nursery staff to deliver exceptional childcare services.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate programmes that promote early childhood development.
- Oversee staff recruitment, training, and performance appraisals to ensure a competent team.
- Maintain compliance with all health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and early years legislation.
- Build strong relationships with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on children's progress.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of care provided.
- Ensure effective communication within the team and with external agencies as necessary.
Qualifications
- Proven management experience within a nursery or childcare setting.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a team.
- Extensive knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare regulations.
- Experience working directly with children across various age groups.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Level 3 Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Children's Care or equivalent are essential; further qualifications in early childhood education are desirable.
- Valid driving licence is preferred for travel between multiple nursery sites or community engagement activities.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £25,485.76-£35,562.42 per year
