We are looking for an enthusiastic, outgoing and adaptable individual to join our team with immediate training and start. The Yard in Bath is an award-winning boutique hotel, coffee spot and bar. The hotel was awarded a Michelin Key in 2024 & 2025 and is soon to be expanding into a 30 room hotel. Going through this transition there will be opportunites for progression within the business. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and looking to continue a career within our established business.
We are recruiting one person as either Duty Manager or Front of House Supervisor. We are looking to take on an exceptional candidate that can fill one of these roles.
The role offers 20-40 hours per week, depending on the role and person. The hours will be a mix of day and evening shifts. The candidate will need to guarantee some availability on weekend and must be 18 or over. This is a permanent role and committment to regular hours is essential.
The role is very versatile and requires you to work in multiple areas of the hotel. You will be working on reception and on the bar as well as doing light food preparation. The hotel bar serves cocktails, wines and beers so previous experience working in a bar and barista knowledge is required.
The ideal candidate will be able to confidently use their initiative when unsupervised, be adaptable and willing to learn. Alongside this, they must possess an outgoing personality and enjoy interacting with people. We are always striving to go the extra mile, making our guests feel welcome and wanting to return to us.
Shifts would be a mixture of mornings (07:30 - 14:00) and afternoons/evenings (14:00 - 21:00/ 23:00).
The job role will include (but is not limited to);
- Helping create a welcoming atmosphere and provide a warm welcome to people visiting The Yard. Providing excellent customer service to all our guests at all times.
- Mixing cocktails, making coffee and pouring drinks.
- Waiting tables in the bar area (including during breakfast service), serving drinks, ensuring guests are well looked after and needs are anticipated.
- General reception duties, checking-in / checking-out hotel guests, showing them to their rooms and dealing with general guest queries/requests. Answering the phone, processing and managing bookings and responding to emails. The candidate will be required to have a solid understanding of all hotel policies and regulations and must be able to work a computer.
- Light cleaning duties of the front of house areas.
- Light food preparation (adhering to food hygiene practices).
- Ensuring the front of house and kitchen area is kept clean and tidy in line with our daily standards.
