About the role
Graphic is dedicated to nurturing and developing the next generation of PCB specialists and as we continue to expand, we are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented professional to join our Quality Team in a full time, permanent capacity as a FAIR Engineer.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the creation, supply and management of First Article Inspection Reports in accordance with AS9102 standards.
Previous experience is not essential as comprehensive training will be provided but the role would ideally suit someone with a background in working within a Quality Department with an understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS).
Responsibilities
FAIR creation and management:
- Prepare and maintain AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) for new and revised products.
- Ensure all reports comply with AS9102 standards and meet internal and customer quality requirements.
Collaboration and co-ordination:
- Work closely with Engineering, Production and Quality Assurance to gather necessary data and documentation.
- Facilitate first article inspections and resolve any discrepancies identified during the inspection process.
- Liaise with customers to ensure requirements and expectations are met.
- Provide industry leading customer service ensuring on time, in full delivery.
Documentation and compliance:
- Maintain accurate documents/records to support regulatory compliance and quality management systems.
- Ensure full document traceability is maintained.
Continuous improvement:
- Participate in quality audits (As and when required).
- Identify and implement opportunities for report and process improvement and simplification.
- Stay current with industry standards and best practices.
Skills required
Essential:
- Exceptional levels of attention to detail with an inquisitive and analytical mind.
- Willingness to learn with a ‘can do’ attitude.
- Strong, clear and effective communication (Verbal and written).
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with a collaborative approach.
- Structure and prioritise workloads to a defined schedule, ensuring OTIF customer delivery.
- Good level of English and Mathematics.
- Computer literate (Able to confidently and effectively use Microsoft and other software applications).
Desirable (Preferred but not essential as full training will be given):
- Experience in the use of Co-ordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to measure critical dimensions of product.
- Experience in the creation of AS FAIR packages using software such as Discus (Or equivalent).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Understanding of Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Initial working hours
Monday to Thursday 08:00 - 17:00 hrs, Friday 08:00 - 14:00 hrs (40 hours per week).
During the initial training period (Approximately 3-6 months depending on candidate experience).
Working hours upon completion of initial training
Monday to Thursday 18:00 - 06:00 hrs (46 hours per week).
Post completion of initial training period.
Pay
The starting pay is £27,476.80 per annum while working on days (Initial training).
Once you have reached the relevant competency level for your role and/or successfully pass your probation, your salary will increase to the basic salary of £28,745.60 (with an additional £3,120 per annum night shift allowance and £5,502.30 per annum for compulsory overtime).
