An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Head Dental Nurse to join our well established team at Infinityblu Dental Care & Implant Clinic, Auchtermuchty.
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and capable Dental Nurse who is ready to take the next step in their career. We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering outstanding patient care, leading by example and supporting the continued development of our Dental Nurse team.
This role requires an experienced Qualified Dental Nurse with a proven track record of working to the highest clinical and professional standards. Ideally, you will ideally have at least two years' post qualification experience, enabling you to confidently support colleagues, uphold regulatory compliance and work closely with the Practice Manager to maintain clinical excellence across the practice. Whilst highly rewarding, the breadth of responsibility and leadership required makes this role best suited to someone with a strong foundation in dental nursing and a thorough understanding of modern dental practice operations.

The starting hourly rate will be reviewed where the successful candidate holds additional post qualification certifications, with salary progression aligned to our pay policy.
Working Pattern: The hours will be 33 hours, worked Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 08.00-17.15.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and lead the Dental Nurse team to facilitate the delivery of safe, high quality patient care.
- Assist the Practice Manager in maintaining the highest standards of clinical governance, infection prevention and control, regulatory compliance and professional practice.
- Provide chairside assistance, ensuring the correct equipment and materials are available for all clinical procedures.
- Ensure clinical areas, equipment and instruments are maintained, cleaned, sterilised and stored in accordance with practice policies, infection prevention and control procedures and manufacturers' instructions.
- Support your own continuing professional development while encouraging and mentoring the Dental Nurse team to continually develop their clinical knowledge and skills.
- Provide day to day leadership and support to the Dental Nurse team, resolving clinical issues where appropriate and escalating matters to the Practice Manager when required.
- Work with the Facilities team to maintain equipment, report faults and maintain maintenance records.
- Liaise with the Practice Manager and Front of House Administrator to coordinate annual leave requests and staff rotas.
- Support recruitment by participating in interviews for Qualified and Trainee Dental Nurses.
- Act as mentor for Trainee Dental Nurses and liaise with the Dental Nurse Tutor regarding progress reviews.
- Complete emergency drugs checks in accordance with practice procedures.
- Complete stock takes, monitor stock levels, place orders and check deliveries.
- Coordinate implant cases and ensure all required equipment and materials are available.
- Monitor and maintain Care Manager within SOE Exact.
- Chair Dental Nurse meetings, preparing agendas and recording meeting minutes.
- Support the Practice Manager in preparing for CPI and other compliance inspections.
- Complete training for specialised services across Infinityblu practices and deliver in house training to relevant team members.
- Support the investigation and resolution of patient complaints relating to clinical nursing matters
.About You:
- Is a GDC Registered Dental Nurse with ideally a minimum of two years' post qualification experience, or can demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge, competence and leadership.
- Has substantial experience working within a busy dental practice and a thorough understanding of clinical governance, infection prevention and control, decontamination procedures and GDC standards.
- Has the confidence and credibility to lead, coach and support a team of Dental Nurses, promoting high clinical standards and professional development.
- Demonstrates excellent organisational skills and can effectively balance clinical responsibilities with leadership and administrative duties.
- Has excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills and works collaboratively with clinicians, the Practice Manager and the wider practice team.
- Is proactive, dependable and solutions focused, with the confidence to manage day to day clinical issues and escalate concerns where appropriate.
- Is enthusiastic about developing others, supporting Trainee Dental Nurses and fostering a positive, engaged team culture.
- Is highly organised, adaptable and able to prioritise effectively within a busy clinical environment.
