Part-time | 10 hours per week | £18 per hour. Teaching hours paid at an additional £30.00 per hour

At Bensham Grove Community Centre, we've been nurturing creativity, learning and community for over 100 years. Our pottery studio is much more than a workshop—it's a place where people of all ages and backgrounds come together to learn new skills, express themselves and develop meaningful connections.
We're looking for an enthusiastic, creative and community-minded Pottery Development & Community Coordinator to help us grow and reimagine what our pottery programme can be.

The Opportunity
This is a unique role for someone who wants to combine their pottery practice with community development.
You'll help shape exciting new workshops, outreach projects, creative collaborations and wellbeing programmes while coordinating the day-to-day operation of our welcoming pottery studio. Working alongside tutors, volunteers, artists and community partners, you'll create opportunities that inspire people to discover their creativity and feel part of something special.
Every week will bring something different—from planning innovative community projects to welcoming new studio users, supporting volunteers or helping someone experience the joy of working with clay for the first time.
We're Looking for Someone Who:
· Has a strong background in pottery with excellent technical knowledge of materials, tools and studio practice.
· Is passionate about using creativity to improve wellbeing and strengthen communities.
· Enjoys developing new ideas and bringing creative projects to life.
· Has experience supporting or mentoring learners, volunteers or community groups.
· Is organised, proactive and confident working independently.
· Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
What You'll Be Doing
· Develop Inspiring Creative Programmes, engaging pottery workshops, outreach activities and community projects.
· Develop innovative opportunities that encourage participation, creativity and wellbeing.
· Build partnerships with artists, community organisations and local groups.
· Help shape the future direction of pottery at Bensham Grove.
Support Our Creative Community
· Welcome and train new studio users.
· Support volunteers, interns and community potters.
· Build positive relationships with learners, members and partners.
· Foster a friendly, inclusive and supportive studio culture.
Coordinate the Studio
· Ensure the pottery studio remains safe, organised and fully equipped.
· Manage materials and stock within budget.
· Support monitoring, evaluation and continuous improvement of the programme.
